Trust in God’s Plan For Your Life

To Know Thee Interviews Father Yurii Sas

Father Yurii Sas talks about his life and ministry with Nate Crapo of To Know Thee. Wonderful lessons from his life as he sought to serve God form a young age as an alter boy and a cantor in the Catholic Church in Ukraine. He later became a Priest and how through his experiences he learned to trust the Lord.

A Life of Faith

How his teacher helped correct his behavior to help him become the man that God needed to be able to serve his people.

“he said, “every Sunday you’re looking like holy men in church but look at yourself who are you like in truth.” Oh man, I felt very ashamed, I went to my place and i decided to change my life to, change my attitude to people. And I became very respectful, but those lessons I remember like now 38 years old, but I still remember this lesson, how smart he was”

As a young boy growing up in the Ukraine, which was part of communist Russia, people could be subject to being fired from their jobs etc for going to church. His grandma took him to church and became his spiritual counselor, and later he saw the change that came upon his parents as they embraced their faith and started going to church through their example.

His parents both died within about a year of each other, the trial that was for him, and the lesson that he learned from that strengthened his faith and brought him closer to God.

He was given permission to marry his girlfriend while he was in seminary, and later became a married priest.

They were able to come to the United States and their journey took them to a few places here, (watch the interview for the details, it’s a great story!) and now he is serving in San Diego, California.

You can help he and his congregation to build a new church building, and all are welcome to worship with them. Click the link below to go to their Facebook Page.
